Sat opens the archery season in Colo
and I was with 3 archers from Penn and
Ohio. Saw about 1600 head in one basin
at 13000 feet in SW part of state.Bulls
indifferent to rut yet. One bull 315 class
was heading a group of 200 cut 8 bugles
and no answers. One group of 60 bulls
was all together and not paying any attention
to the cows. All rubbed but the 4 point bulls
still mostly white. No wallowing all bulls
clean.Very dry this year rainfall way below
normal this summer. The big bulls should be
moving in 7-10 days and start breaking up
this bunch.Going back tomorrow and hope the
rut picks up.
