Thanks for the reply's. I took this deer on a RFW property in the NW part of the state on 11/21. It was a very fun hunt with rutting bucks everywhere. The ranch had it all from aspen stands down to low hay fields making for some awesome scenery. Saw a bighorn sheep, elk and antelope. I probably could have held out for a bigger buck, but I was a bit trigger itchy since this was my first mule deer and I went last year and didn't take one. Definitely bigger bucks taken on this place, but I was happy with this one. To me, he's a great representative mule deer, typical 4x4, decent mass and good forks. His beams and spread are weak which puts him scoring right at 170. Definitely beatable, but a good first buck. He had a very pretty cape, long hair - he'll look good on the wall. We probably saw 50-60 deer a day and probably 10-20 bucks a day. Excellent hunt, though I wished it could have been a bit more physical but I won't complain.
