does anyone have any information on fire that was in unit 61 last summer/fall , was it mainly just a low brush/grass fire or did it totally burn everything ? am in pool to draw muzzleloader tag there this year , according to maps area i know was part of burn , any info would be helpful

Hunted coyotes in unit 62 last year during the fire and took these pictures. I think there will be plenty of elk in the burn areas but there will also be more cows. One of the ranchers we visit told us he was running 1400 cows on that side last year and if they had a good winter (lots of snow) he'd be able to run 2200. More feed means they get to run more cattle.

Some of those aspens that look alive may be dead. The fire burned through them along the ground, they have pretty thin bark so it may have killed them.

Someone who lives out there may know more about how aspens handle fire.
