This was the second antelope tag my dad has ever drawn. He was really excited for the hunt and we wanted to do our best to make the most of the tag. We were able to make a few scouting trips but still not as many as we would have liked. We saw several really good bucks during our trips as well as on the hunt but just nothing that looked "special". We finally ran into this buck and I told my dad that I thought he was a shooter. He didn't argue, I think by this time his trigger finger was pretty itchy. He made a great shot and dumped the buck. As happy as I was in the moment, it's antelope hunting so I was really nervous walking up to the buck, starting to doubt my initial judgment of it. To my surprize, he ended up being a little better then I thought (which never happens for me). It was a great hunt and we made great memories that we will have forever.
