I have a load that works good in my rifle (tikka T3 lite 300 win mag). 180 grn accubond, 73 grn of RL22 Winchester primer. should be 2900 FPS
What should I do next? I have not choreographed yet.
I want to use this on an elk hunt this year. I have never reloaded a rifle round with the intent to take an animal. so do i need more testing?

I use the same powder in mine with 180 Barnes and CCI primer. I am a lot more picky about working up loads and chronograph each set to determine the most consistent load.

I generally start off a set at just below medium load, then work my way up in .1 grain increments, 5 rounds loaded per set and chrono each round fired. I work my way up the load chart until I see signs of pressure. MOST of the time, the load with the lowest standard deviation gives me the tightest groups. MOST of the time the most accurate load is somewhat above a medium load.

Hard to tell if it makes a difference or not...two different shooters, two different guns, etc.
