Draw Results Post Date

I am juggling several potential overlapping hunts this year, and have a decent chance (10-20%) for both my CO deer & elk hunts (9 & 19 points). I spent all day today updating a chart I use to monitor hunt overlaps, so I'm a little burned out. But if I read right, CO lists 6/1 for draw result posting date for all elk/deer/lope hunts. The last day I can change my Oregon application is also 6/1. Curious if I can confidently count on CO actually posting a day or two prior to that 6/1 date. I cannot return my OR tag if I draw it (18 points).

Also curious if I read the refund deal right. Basically the policy didn't change from prior years, other than now this new fee is required, and I must pay for that in advance for each species? So in my case, two fees? Thanks.

There is typically a "back door" method posted each year that lets a hunter know if he drew a tag several days in advance of the CPOW posted results date. Doesn't tell you if you drew your 1st choice or 2nd choice but if you only put in for a 1st choice the info could be useful.

As far as rules for returning tags, there has been some changes (improvements), visit this link

Seen it be delayed a few times, I'd recommend giving it good thought and making sure you apply for what you're willing to live with the first time...
just saying.

2f350s: Spend the money on additional licenses and HUNT more!

The results are usually posted a couple days early and as mentioned, there's the back-door method which does work, but there are no guarantees.

The other thing to consider is that if you end of turning the tags back in you will not get a refund if you want your points back.

AND, you won't gain a point. In other words if you go into the drawing with 19 points, and you turn it back in, you will only have 19 points next year, not 20. So you lose a point to point creep

Before last year I would say no doubt you would see your CO results before June 1. Last year they closed the "back door" method of checking to see if you drew, and they waited until the bloody, bitter end to post results. Previously you could count on results up to 2 weeks before the posted date. So who knows?

You only pay the return fee if you decide to return the license. You have until 30 day prior to opening day.

I used the backdoor method last year about a week before the draw results were out, and it was accurate. Good luck

I think I did too. I don't think they eliminated the back door. I heard they had some kind of glitch in the first drawing so they had to redo it and that is why it was so late. Hopefully that won't happen again

The glitch was in 2014. I know I got some refund checks in the mail before results were posted for some species last year.
