We do this one in camp every year in the Dutch oven. Made it at home last night in a heavy pan.
Works with any meat, if you use pork steaks like we do in camp, grill them first to burn off some fat.
6 "steaks" about 3/4 inch thick - though any meat cut into slabs works!
2-3 onions
1 large jar salsa or bar b q sauce (not both)
1 can Coke
Brown the meat,
Add the onions and cook lightly,
Add the sauce and the Coke.
Cook over very low heat (oven at 275 or camp stove or coals on dutch oven) about 2 hours.
Serve over rice, noodles or boiled potatoes.
