It did not rain or snow so I cannot comment on the waterproof aspect but is blocks wind great and is faily quite. I do wish it had pitzips but I really like the removable hood. We were in temps from about 18 degrees in the morning to 45 degrees in the afternoon. I wore a polypro shirt, a cotton shirt and the jacket and never got cold. Now to keep this in perspective I would have liked to have gotten the MTO50 Jacket from Cabela's but just did not have the funds. This was on sale for $79.00.
