getting ready for my first bear hunt in Colorado

Just looking for tips on everything from the hunt to skinning the bear. I have a tag for some private property where a few bears frequent.. mostly tearing into sheds and getting into garbage.

I am going to use my bow, because there are houses 300 to 500 years away.

also what is the law about hunting over game carcases? I will also have a deer tag for the area. The deer is the priority, then the bear. if I kill a deer, will the bear come looking for the leftover carcass?

Bear huntin gets in your blood so be prepared to get hooked and you will be doing it as much as you can .

As far as the skinning goes I have found they are pretty easy to skin . Just stay away from the paws , and have your taxi guy take care of that .

So are you going to use a tree stand or just spot and stalk ? Your going to have to check the rules with the state that your hunting as far as what is legal bait . From what I have found where I hunt bears you need to be pretty careful about your bait .

A bear will come into a carcass but it usually takes a few days, once it starts to really stink.
