Gmu 38 3rd season buck tag

I have never hunted unit 38 but got a 3rd season rifle tag I have heard a little about this unit but I wanted to see if anyone had any spots/areas they’d recommend. I was also wondering if anyone could let me know about the deer population in this unit. Any spots/info is greatly appreciated!

I thought about picking up a buck tag private only, but I can’t find anyone that will allow me to hunt private, even for a trespass fee. Looks like a cool unit so that’s why I’ve been trying to find a willing landowner.

Never hunted it but there is a reason unit 29 and 38 are/were the only buck tags left to be had. 38 is directly south of unit 29. The thread below this one is about 29, im guessing everything said in that thread is applicable to 38. Looks like you live in CO though, so at least you can check it out ahead of time.

Yeah hope it to make a couple of scouting trips or maybe turning in this tag and swing if I can’t get my hands on a tag if a unit I’m more familiar with
