Thanks all. We saw a great buck opening day and snuck up to 60 yds with brush/branches obscuring vitals for my bro's shot. Didn't see much else for 5 days. A bowhunter was beating same spot and I was unsure we would see much else. Was going to try and convince my bro that we should move camp... Saw this buck and he was coming to me - with an option to go left to feed or right towards me then bed in timber. He would've lived if he went left! He came to 17 yds and was rubbing a bush. Bam!
Thought it a what our hunt needed at the time. I'm happy for meat and my bro shot a nice one next day in same spot. He got to make a stalk without me telling him what to do. We are all happy. Oh yeah, the bigger buck we saw day 1 jumped outta bed another 10yds away as we walked up on downed and buck! Next year!
