Gun vault

I'm not sure which forum to put this in, so I will start here. I have out grown my gun safe and I'm looking to turn my cold storage into a walk in safe. Has anybody here done this and would give me some advice? Thanks

I turned my 9ft x 9ft cold storage into gun vault. I bought safe door and installed myself. Be sure to insulate the ceiling and walls with a spray foam that will not allow condensation to form. Most cold storage rooms are under front porches that have metal decking that the concrete is poured on top of. The metal decking will have condensation form and put moisture in the air causing rust to occur on guns. The foam will eliminate that concern.
I sealed walls with concrete sealant then foam insulated walls directly on concrete . After spray foam I then framed walls and ceiling so i could insulate with fiberglass bats. I also wired a plug for a dehumidifier. I then sheetrocked walls and built shelves and gun racks. I have been using it for three years and love it. It also serves as a great safe place to retreat into in case of emergency. The safe door can be opened from inside.
I hope that helps door cost 2500 dollars I figure I'm into it 4000 total.
