LAST EDITED ON Oct-11-06 AT 06:53PM (MST)[p]Hey All,
Happy Hunting.
Had a couple good freinds from North Dakota out the last five days for their first Blacktail hunt.
I was hoping to take them into a couple honey holes in the Alps, but trails closed darn fires. We went to plan B. Hunted mostly the low country. With the full moon, wind, and the weather turning hot it got tuff.
I am sure they have respect for Blacktails now.
We hunted our butts off and saw about a dozen bucks. We managed two respectable forkies and one pig.
All in all it was a great time and for a rushed five days it turned out great. The two of them fired 4 shots and harvested three animals, pretty good.
They for sure were not expecting the jump shooting we had to do on these bedded Blacktails. By the third day they started carrying their guns in Pheasant mode. I sure had a great time and cannot waite for next time.
Now I have two weekends to fill my tags and I have not even stepped foot in C-zone.
Enjoy the images. The wide Fork is 23 inches with 4" eye guards.
