I need your help. I'm in position to draw either the Henry's management buck hunt or the Book Cliffs this draw. I was planning to put in for the Henry's as it's been my dream to hunt these monster bucks. I've heard from folks it's possible to hunt the Henry's from your wheeler and there are plenty of nice management bucks to choose from. And recently others have said it's a two-day hike to reach a nice buck once you spot him and that there are limited "mature" management bucks. I know this community knows the truth, so I'm hoping you will help me.
Which hunt gives me the best chance at a 28"- 30" buck? The management hunt at the Henrys? Or should I settle for a 25" buck on the Books?
How many mature management bucks are on the Henry's? I've heard both - that there are several and also that there are mainly just young management bucks. I'd love to shoot a 30" 2x3.
I've read some MM posts related to this topic. But most threads get off subject regarding how these units should be managed. Which I do find to be an interesting topic...
If you've been on these LE hunts could you help me understand what I'd be getting into with either of these units?
I've never been to either unit. I'll scout the terrain this summer. And I'm planning to be out the entire hunt. I expect to get out and hunt; not just ride the wheeler all day. And I want the best chance at a 30" buck. Thanks for your help.
