Always pay the $50 pillow fee/bathroom key on those long flights? lol

Glad you made it back Brian.

Had a great time over there except the 90 degree heat and 65% humidity. Got over to the far west side of VN about 15 miles I would guess from the Cambodian border. Driving around or should say riding in car around out there was a bit spooky but the locals never even paid any attention to us "round eyed" humans...LOL

So many new buildings in old Saigon with all the high rise buildings etc......being built by the Japanese.
Got there on Nov 8th and changed some money, for a crisp new $100 USD got 2,360,000 VND Largest note is a 500,000 VND. Last time I changed I got 2,560,000 VND....average dinner in Saigon would go for just under 400,000 VND or about $18.00 USD. The taxi's are fairly cheap but they have hidden costs I did not know about if they take you to town from main airport. I basically told the last one I had to GFY did not know what the hell he was complaining about. Got it straightened out with the help of a young Hotel lobby fella and then the driver left.

The worst part of the whole trip was the "long flight from SF to Taiwan......15-1/2 hrs direct, no lay over. I also I got rained out in Danang so could not get good pictures of the area where I worked at the old China Beach area.....all new high dollar resorts being built there along the old beach area.

I did find the building I use to go to for an all-nighter back in 1965. The alley is not as wide but the old building is still back there.
