hoping for El Nino

I was reading today that there is a pretty good chance of an El Nino this year which should lead to good NM rains. Here's hoping!

Late spring storms did wonders for the northern part of the state.
Greener than I've seen in years. And runoff like crazy. Shaping up to be an excellent year.

I'm still hoping the Gila holds strong for my first elk hunt.

It's down lower 7-9k were I am we really need it. Elk look good,but they are out in mid-day looking for green and water here at my place.

Usual monsoon here is mid-June on. Sometimes early. Sometimes as late as July. Or not,weak at best.

The bulls usually grow great racks here regardless,IMHO,sometimes more breakage later.

Forecast does look good for El Nino. Strong one.
They produce 50/50 chance of heavy monsoons. And a much better chance at heavy winter precip.
I'm seeing more monsoon type activity early,so I'm real hopeful.
But not planting anything yet...

El gringo huh? Always seems like El Weto always pushes them up to me when they are using their hoochie mommas right out of the window of their f-250's

Forecast from NOAA say's it's at 70% chance now.
Looks like maybe some rain next week,as usual.
El Nino usually effects winter/spring way more but chance of heavy monsoons grows too.....hoping.
