How much cover?

How much cover do whitetails need? River property access is hard to come by, but was thinking about door knocking on places a little bit away. Lots of small patches of cover, but what is too small?

thanks for the help

Not sure what state you're in but in Iowa I've kicked some major bucks out of almost nothing. It may also have to do with how much hunting pressure there is. There's not much in Iowa due to private property so they will lay in any grass patch, corner fence line, bush. I've even seen them laying wide open next to a hump of ground.

If it's too small to hide a Jackrabbit, it might be too small to hide a world class whitetail!

The beauty of whitetails is they can adapt to enviroment. From city's to flat ground with one sage brush and still vanish

seen them taken in a fence row that was 3ft wide and a mile long.
