Kelly:
Went twice last year. First time nothing; second time did pretty good. After the first time, a few guys gave us some good tips that really worked. Heres what I would do:
1: Fish at night (of course).
2: Radical Glow jigs (white, green, blue), 3" inches in length.
3: Tip your jigs with sucker meat.
4: Take 6 poles. Dead stick the 5 and jig the other pole. Make sure your poles are labeled and have your address.
5: Take a cheap camera with a flash. After fishing a glow jig for 30 minutes, snap a picture of it. The flash will "re-"charge" your jig. You will get a lot more hits this way.
6: There are also some small glow stick that you can buy off the internet. Some guys from Rock Springs were putting them just above their jig. They were catching more than we were using this method.
7: Make sure to get the Radical Glow jigs. I took some jigs that I bought from Cabelas. When I got them. I charged them and compared the glow between each brand. There was no comparison.
8: Use Crawdad scented Smelly Jelly. This worked really good.
9: Fish right off the bottom. 6" off the bottom is too much. No more than 1-2" off the bottom.
10: Fish near the cliffs in 10'-20' of water. Drill a lot of holes when you get there and move around.
We might hit it within the next few weeks. Let me know if you want to go.
BTW, we were fishing the Confluence area; east side....
