I don't think anyone would blame you for not wanting to give any clues about where you shot this buck, except that you already have.

There are only 8 mule deer hunts open in the entire state during late August, all controlled hunts, and only 2 of them are rifle hunts.
Nobody asked you to state which unit this was in or the drainage. They are just interested in knowing the details of that days hunt. How did you spot him? Was it a long stalk or a long wait for a shot or did you jump him out of some brush at close range? The details of the shot such as range or any other difficulties that you overcame to kill this buck.
Just make sure you don't post any more clues and you should be able to tell a story without giving away your location.
