Info on wyoming sheep area 2?

Has anyone on here ever hunted area 2 in wyoming for sheep? If so what kind of ram should we hold out for and should we go for the opener of the season or the end of october any information would be helpful thanks. Asking because my father inlaw has 18 points and should pull a tag this year.

I am in area 2 quite a bit. It might be the best area in the Cody region right now. The early part of the season is good but you have to put some miles on and it's real big country. The end of October the rams get down lower in the drainages closer to the road and get easier to access by foot.

Area 2 is on the upswing the last several years. Last year 92% success and 8yr avg on rams killed. Proposed tag numbers stayed at 24.

Area 3 is not doing as well as others. 70% success and 6yr avg. This years comp counts had low lamb survival. Thus proposed tag numbers were reduced from 40 to 31.
