That 870 is something I bought with summer job money when I was 16. I’ve made a lot of memories with it.Looks like that 870 will still do the job. Nice Gobbler
1 cup soy, 1 cup Wesson oil, 1 cup 7up, cut the breast into steaks, let marinate over night, then bbq. Doesn't get any better! Legs make great turkey noodle soup. Throw them in the crock pot til the meat falls off. Wild turkey is one of our favorite.Anyone have a way to cook these fancy buzzards that actually makes them worth eating? LOL!

Look up the meat eater turkey schnitzel recipe. It’s fantastic!! I made it for my in laws in Tennessee who shoot an insane amount of birds and it’s now the only way they eat themAnyone have a way to cook these fancy buzzards that actually makes them worth eating? LOL!
No Worries, we’re going to cook him tomorrow. This was my first turkey and he literally ran 200 yards to me after I called, pretty exciting and surprising. When I saw him I didn’t think that was going happen.Sorry for hijacking your post Bean. Congratulations on your bird!
Uh Tim, I think that grouse hit me!Congrats Fred, my only question is did you kill the turkey with your shotgun or hit it with your atv? HaHa. Remember the Uncompahgre?
I guess I was a little surprised at your question. I’ve killed very few, three to be exact, so I haven’t eaten many of them. I felt like they were all as good as domestics turkey………without a lot of seasoning or sauces even.Anyone have a way to cook these fancy buzzards that actually makes them worth eating? LOL!
Yes we all have different tastes. In all honesty I’m not real crazy about domestic turkey either. I’ve killed my share of wild turkeys and I quit killing them years ago because I just don’t care for the taste of them. I do have lots of turkeys in my yard just about year round. They really are fun to watch.I guess I was a little surprised at your question. I’ve killed very few, three to be exact, so I haven’t eaten many of them. Having said that, we all have different tastes and I have my share of dislikes too so I can guess I shouldn’t be too shocked……
They are a fun bird to watch, just never really got hooked on hunting them, like I am some other critters.
I respect you for that. I did the same thing with elk. Don’t care for the meat flavor so I could no longer like myself in the eye when it came to killing them. It’s been over twenty years since I even bought an elk tag. Sure enjoy listening to them and watch them interact. They’re a great big game species.Yes we all have different tastes. I've probably aged out of the youth hunter designation.I respect you for that. I did the same thing with elk. I do keep a bunch of cow elk points however, just in case a youth hunter needs a mentored hunt someday.
Have one just like it. Parent gave it to me for Christmas when I was 12-14. Very smooth guns and a lot of memories with it.That 870 is something I bought with summer job money when I was 16. I’ve made a lot of memories with it.
I bought mine from money made by delivering newspapers when I was 14. It's the only shotgun I've used since. BobThat 870 is something I bought with summer job money when I was 16. I’ve made a lot of memories with it.
