Heading to Vegas for a work convention. Are there any places worth visiting in or near Vegas in regards to hunting, shooting and the great outdoors??

I would love to go out and glass some desert sheep but I doubt that is plausible...

Let me know!

There is a park near Boulder City that has big sheep frequent it, I cannot recall the name. Or you could always spend time and money at bass pro shop.

Finding sheep should be no problem. If you go into the hills south east of Henderson you should be able to find them.

I lived in Vegas for a while. It's kind of like being on Mars. Not much can live in that heat... Including myself. Good luck!

I've also heard they have these places they call "cat houses". Not sure what it's all about but it would probably be worth checkin' out! Take some pictures will ya?

Take Blue Diamond Rd.(The Rd. Bass Pro shops is off of) heading west. Before you start up the mountain there is a left turn. You'll see a little parking lot and a brown restroom building. Take that left and head back in the hills a couple miles. There are sheep all over in there. Go first thing in the morning as once it warms up the sheep are impossible to find. Also north of town there is a little community called Cold Creek. Great place to see some wild horses, deer and elk. Cold Creek is about 45 minutes north of Vegas on the 95. You'll see a sign for the turn off. The Spring Mountain Range doesn't look like much, but it's a fun place to go kick around. Red Rock is another place that is fun to check out.Bring lots of cold water and watch out for Rattlesnakes. PM me if you need any more info. Take care.

Good place to see some nice rams morning and evening is in Hemenway Park in Boulder City. Take Hwy 93 through Boulder City toward the dam. As your driving down the hill toward Lake Mead turn left at Ville Drive. The park is on the right.

this time of yr the sheep will be in that park in Boulder from about 11am on. Just grazing away like domestic animals. Its about a 30 minute drive from downtown vegas. theres usually always a big one too. take your camera!

If you really want to do something fun and see some "full curls" then I really recommend........

We do work for Saint Judes Ranch in Boulder City .I was at Hemmenway park today ,The Rams are there pretty much all day.One in particular that is larger than the rest .If you attempt to approach the group ,he will meet you half way.You can get close enough to see the muscle definition in his chest and shoulders .If you have never been here ,its a prime spot to see the rams.Email me if you need additional info .Tom

Here are some sheep from the area...enjoy

FLEH-
I have been in that Glitter Gulch before, pretty scary place.
They had a 3 drink minimum and there were four of us that went in.
I thought i was going to chew my own arm off trying to get out of THAT trap, WHOAH!!
We nicknamed it something a little differen't, but i'd get nuked for sure if i said it. Lets just say the ventilation could use a little work.

The Libraray....well it was good enough to go in twice before i realized it wasn't all that good.

Cheeta's.....I was impressed the first time i went in there, we left there and ended up at Little Darlings....NOW were talkin!!!

Hopefully i'll get a chance to try the rest of the wildlife in Las Vegas before too long!! ;-)
