Have any of you guys that have been hunting deer or elk seen any good moose?? I have the moose tag and have yet to find a shooter bull! The hunt starts this Saturday ! Thanks in advance

Moose on the South Slope are suffering size wise I can tell you that
Got charged by one last Fall & damn near had to put him down

Just couldn't figure out how I was gonna Splain my 2nd Once in a Lifetime Moose to the DWR!

I have footage of one bull in that general area, but he is nothing special. I have seen quite a few bulls in that area, but Lightning ridge wouldn't be my first choice to hunt. Lightning ridge is to thick to glass a lot of country, you have to jump something or catch it crossing the DLL fence to shoot one on there.

My advice would be to park a car at the bottom of Wheatgrass canyon, there is a parking area at the inlet into Causey Res. Park another car at the headwaters of Wheatgrass and make your way down in there and spend all day glassing and hunting wheatgrass canyon. There are beaver ponds down in there and a creek that runs all the way down. I have seen plenty of moose down in there in the past.

If it was me, and I had the Morgan South Rich tag, I would be hunting the Henefer WMA. I helped a guy kill his moose in there a few years ago. There are a ton of bulls in there. Doesn't seem like moose country but they are thick in there. Once during a muzzy deer hunt we saw more moose than deer. Saw 8 bulls that day and one huge one.
