Here is the buck I had the good fortune of taking this past archery season here in Utah. The buck was taken on the Henry Mountains on September 1st. After the 60 day drying period the buck has been officially scored and entered into the record books with a gross score of 282 1/8 and a net score of 272 6/8. That puts the buck as the new number one velvet non-typical of all time. I know some earlier reports had this buck grossing over 300 inches and possibly being the new world record for Pope & Young. If I decide to strip the velvet and have the buck re-measured there is a chance it could surpass the current world record buck that scores 274 5/8. Pope & Young only recognizes a world record if the horns are stripped of their velvet. That measurement would take place at the next convention held in St. Louis in April of 2017. Look for the entire story of my hunt in the near future and stop in this coming February at the Antler Kingz booth at the 2016 Sportsman?s Expo and see this unique mule deer. Thanks Jeff Cisneros.
