New Video camrea

I am lookin to buy a new camcorder this year. I am lookin for the best camcorder with out going up to the professional ones. I have always liked canon but Ive seen a few sonys that might be good to. I was wondering if any one has any recommendations on which brand to go with. I know canon has a great warranty but im not sure about sonys any input would be much appreciated.

You want a prosumer type.
I chose the Canon Xh-A1 from Canon. Get a good tripod/video head and a shotgun mic as well as a wireless mic set.
