NM Deer Load

Guys, I've always pretty much done my
business to be in line with the CO rules,
loose powder, open sights, Powerbelts, ect.

Got this pesky NM deer tag. I've already slapped
a scope on the Encore. Have some Hornady and Barnes
Saboted 250 gr bullets, and some Pyrodex pellets.

What am I missing/not thinking about ??

Any input would be appreciated, as I'm far
from an expert on this stuff.

I'm thinking it might take a primer or cap to make it go BANG!

Just kidding. Experiment with your loads. No expert here, but I like the saboted Barnes bullets with a total of 130 grains of pellets behind it. I feel real confident out to 200 yards, and the scope really helps at that distance.

What he said. Just dial in those Barnes with whatever powder you like. They will git-er-done.

Thanks Gentlemen,

I shot an Axis deer with one of the
Barnes TMZ, and oh my Lord does that
thing open the peddles. Deadly.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-21-08 AT 05:30PM (MST)[p]Larry I would work up the load that you like I then would kick the cash cow a little and get one of those new scopes(Omega or Leupold) that you setup for 100 yd, 150 yds and 200 yds and up crosshairs and I think you will be setup pretty danged good.
