North Eastside Elk Hunt

My buddy backed out at the last minute,and was looking for some one to hunt with , hate to go by myself. I have some knowledge of the Longcreek area, i would be driving from Boise area.

I scouted some of the area in August,and Bonepicker gave me some insight as well. Have you been into to the eastnorthside unit lately,and what do you recommend.Actually just looking to get some meat,so getting a bull is not a priority. Thanks for any help.

Bummer Rick! Wish I had a few days off, I'd drive up and help you out. I talked to a guy that had a first season bull tag and he got a 5 point right outside of Prairie City. Said there were 70 cows in that herd. That was on the 26th of October. The elk have grouped up pretty good he said. Hopefully you can get into them. I'm sure if you hunt those areas you were looking at near Long Creek you should be able to get into something, tough to hunt elk by yourself though. Good luck!
