I'm new to this whole traditional muzzleloader thing. I just purchased an Enfield 2 band .451 percussion muzzleloader with Henry Rifling. I have a friend that is suggesting using a 492 grain custom lead bullet. What is the current line of thought regarding these types of bullets? Would a guy be better off using a 275 gn aerotip powerbelt like Cabelas carries? The hunt I'm going on does not allow sabots so I don't know what to do aside from start with these two bullets and do some experimenting. I am planning on shooting 777 loose and starting with 90 gr. of powder and working my way up to say 110 gr. or so. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
