Well, my wife delivered our first child, a beautiful baby girl, on August 20, so I've been out of the game. But Friday I was able to finally get out, and lo and behold, right at first light I had a bull bugle once to my cow call, then hustle his cows out of there. An hour later I had a real good 6X6 angling past me at about 40 yards in the timber but I got busted by one of his cows when I started to draw. Oh well, at least I got out and got into the elk. Sunday I saw a dude in Butte Falls with a big fat spike in the back of his truck. Other than that, all my friends are seeing nada.
