Here's the data. Note the plate is black. I talked to the gunsmith that blued the handle this AM. He said he just did it as a favor to the owner as the original had a purple tint, he said from silicon in the metal. You guys have been great. Thank again-Jim Dang-for some reason the pictures didn't come up. I guess if you do want to see them go to Auctionarm.com and look up the sale item number. Be sure you indicate its a closed auction in the last 30 days.

Description
Offered is pre-1964 Winchester Model 70 in .270 Winchester. It is serial number 2355xx and was made in 1952. It is in near perfect condition but has one repairable flaw. See photo. There is a ?? clean chip out of the wood at the toe of the stock. Probably the gun got dropped there. This should be a very, very simple repair for good stockmaker. Other than that, the blue is about 99% and the stock varnish is about the same with almost none but the very smallest handling marks. The bore is excellent. It is scoped with a classic Weaver K4 scope in Leupold 2 piece Adjusto-Mounts. A wonderful old ?Rifleman?s rifle? that, with very minor work, will be returned to perfect condition. Email me if you have any questions or want additional photos. Or call me at 603 878-3219 ? I always like to talk guns. Take a look at my website: antiquesandguns.com. There you can see many fine weapons. I also have many other rifles and shotguns not on the site. My inventory changes daily. (NOTE: I JUST GOT IN AN EXCEEDINGLY RARE CIVIL WAR HENRY REPEATING RIFLE ENGRAVED WITH THE AMERICAN EAGLE AND OTHER PATRIOTIC MOTIFS ? Call for details). Fine double barrel English and American shotguns and case hardened Marlin lever actions are my specialty. FFL or C&R required. $25 shipping and insurance to be paid by buyer. I accept cashier checks, money orders, or PayPal by credit card if you pay the 3% fee. Personal checks delay shipping 10 days. All items must be paid for within 7 days of auction close. Good luck and thanks for looking, Clive.
