As soon as i drew the tag i knew it was going to be a busy summer and good hunt! I spent most of the summer scouting the area, looking for a quality bull to take. There were several bulls but nothing I wanted. When this bull first appeared I knew it was the one and kept watching him through the summer.
I had a close eye on him but he completely disappeared as soon as elk started rutting. I had a hunch where he was and found him a week or so later. As the rut heated up, he was challenged by several 360" class bulls but kicked each one in the trash, leaving him with a solid group of cows by the end of September.
I have hunted a lot of elk over the years and taken several bulls pushing 350, but this guy was smarter, yet more aggressive than any elk iv ever seen! After being outsmarted on 2 separate occasions, we finally made it happen on the 4th morning of the hunt. I still cant believe it!
