i'm a 61 year old fart who has hunted an area since the age of 12, an area which is an old remote subdivision consisting of 20 n 40 acre parcels my family has owned property in there since the late 60's, every summer we would work on the main road to make it passable during winter, so every year it was our go to spot to hunt deer, we all new each other and we all hunted on each others property without any problems never needed permission nothing.
it seems times have changed and so did the kind of people who own property back there, it started bout 12 years ago when meth cookers started cooking back there n buying up the property with their dirty money, it got dangerous real quick having tweekers pulling guns on you wondering who you were n if u had a right to be there that got old real quick, year after year having to defend yourself just to go hunt, this place was not just sentimental my family would put many years of old fashioned sweat n blood to keep that road rocked n drivable in the winter.
i use to love to take a few people back there once in a while to get their first buck ever and my grandson's first buck as well but now last 4 years its the pot growers buying up the property and putting gates on roads that have easements on em try explaining that to these kids, these gates are now keeping me n others who have hunted back there for eons out of the best buck country around, some of these guys went to school with my sons; so last night i get lectured by my kid bout driving through these peoples makeshift bullchit gates knowing full well my history there and expecting me to kiss their ass's, they should show me some respect, i tell you there is no respect these days for nothing or no one.
i guess it may be time to put a phuking gate on my families 40 acres ey...you think that'll get their attention, i hope someone can relate...nuf said.
