The old saying that "Even an old squirrel finds a nut sometimes" really came home on Saturday night in Kingman at the Friends of the NRA banquet.
I hit the jackpot by winning the balloon raffle and picking up a Colt M-4 carbine AND a Taurus model PT 1911 stainless pistol in 45ACP in the penny raffle.
I spent $120 on balloons and $25 on the penny raffle, though I played a lot of other games with no luck!
Last year I bought one balloon at this same banquet and won a Sig Sauer Navy Seal Limited edition 9mm.
Sig is now long gone and now I'm looking at maybe doing some trading to get me a Fred Eichler Rock River Arms LAR-15 that I've been drooling over for several years!
Local gun dealer says he'll take that Colt in trade towards that new RRA AR so maybe, just maybe, by next year's Antelope Eaters hunt I'll have a "real" coyote gun!
I know I was really lucky and I'm always glad to support an awesome group like the FNRA.

P.S. Now here is how lucky I am when it comes to drawing tags. I applied only for antlerless elk tags this year and BLANKED!
