Dear Hunters Scheduled for the 22-24 RCRC Oryx Hunt,
This email is being provided to inform you that a Military Mission, that overlaps a significant portion of the RCRC hunt area, has been scheduled for the same weekend as your hunt. WSMR and the NMDGF have discussed the options and have determined that with some minor modifications of the hunt area and check-in location we can still conduct the hunt, and we believe that it will still provide a quality opportunity for all the hunters.
In order to conduct this hunt, we have to move the check-in and hunt registration location. The new check station will be set up at the Oscura Gate. The turn-off to this gate is located approximately 41 miles north of Alamogordo, NM, and 16 miles south of Carrizozo, NM both on US 54. Turn west at this point and travel approximately 5 miles until you reach the Oscura Gate. Check-in times will remain the same, 10:00 a.m. Friday morning, 22 Feb, 2013. On US 54, please look for the WSMR Oscura Bombing Range sign. This is the turn off to the Oscura Gate. It is a graded county gravel road.
