Rhodesian Ridgeback hounds

Has anybody ever used these hounds for hunting lions? If so how good are they?

I don't know how good they are for hunting, (I think they would be great) but I had a couple and they are fighting machines, they was great dogs, very good family pets but would kick the crap out any dog that came around.

I had a friend that had one, as a house pet, and he loved him.

My Grand Father used to hunt w/hounds and he had something against them...I think. I think it was that they were a p-i-t-a to confine in a hunting truck and etc around a pack of dogs. I vaguely remember saying negatives about em.

BTW, he'd been dead for 20 plus years and it has been 35 years since we hunted together and I could be making it all up. But, he did have experience w/em.
