S-60

A friend of a friend finally drew S-60 for sheep. Took him 20 years to draw. Does anyone feel like throwing a few hints my way on where to start scouting? Thanks.

Congrats to your friend of a friend on the tag.

I had a tag there as a resident in 2000 and got to know a non-resident hunter that had the tag in 2004.

Getting to know where the private vs. public land is the first thing. Unfortunately, the unit has a ton of private land, and not all of the landowners are willing to let you on.

There is scattered BLM tracts along Cripple Creek and Fourmile Creek and that is where the majority of the public land rams come from. I would contact the CDOW warden in the area and see if you can have them walk you through the public land. Public land is not outlined real well if at all in the area.

Another bet is to contact Doyle Worbington at JD Outfitters,719-661-3709. He can probably get access to a few of the ranches in the northern part of the unit.
