Scope????

HELP.....

Looking to shoot some distance, the question is what range do you guys feel 18x is good for? And when using a 50MM obj is the scope that much up that is makes the gun uncomfortable?

I'm not sure about the distance part of your question but if went with a Leupold VX-L you could have a 56mm objective lens that sits at the same height as a 40mm objective.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-15-09 AT 07:29PM (MST)[p]Sure you can get a VXL, but it'll cost you 3 or 4 times as much. I have a muzzleloader with high mounts, and I don't find it uncomfortable, but many guys who I know have hunted much longer than I have absolutely hate them.

Your range will be determined more by your gun than your scope. What caliber and what are you going to be hunting?
