Something I thought about is if I have private land and a good chunk where deer and elk winter and I see a shed I'm going to pick it up. Because if it's my land how will the dnr stop me if I'm not going to let them on my land. And for all they know the sheds in the bed of the truck came from nevada, arizona or idaho and if they didn't see me pick them up they can't do a thing about it. My guess is people with land where deer and elk will probably wait for a bit anyhow seeing as the sheds more than likely aren't going anywhere. My point is that no one is gonna let an 80" single, 2 point , or decent 3 point or any shed just sit off the side of the road they are gonna pick it up. I think people will just have their wife or buddy drop them off on some of these wintering grounds and have the mountain to themselves. Also I'm sure that people are going to get camoed up or go in at night. I just think it's going to be really tough to police for the dnr and it's going to take alot of help from hunters. I hope that all shed hunters are respectful of the law and keep in their mind that it's in the best interest of insuring the survival and keeping winter mortality down. So good luck to everyone who waits until april 1st. For those of you who go out before I hope you get food poisoning LOL.
