Your logic doesn't hold up because you can't compare harvest and extrapolate to the population as a whole. In the 50's, people subscribed to "shoot any you see" and the total cat population was most likely much less than today. Now, with tags and limited harvest, the harvest is higher. What I draw from that is that there are way more live cats out there today than in the 50's
