I think Kodiak Island would be a better choice for a good Blacktail.

Here's some advice when choosing what time of year to go.
Don't go the last week of the hunt and charter a boat if you hunt Kodiak Island. I was up there a few years ago with fellow MM member Bura Nut. We chartered a boat and choose the last week of the hunt. Well, our plans backfired. It was the first week of Dec and the storms froze over the bays of the areas we wanted to hunt. So we were limited to hunting the same spots that that outfittered hunted for the previous 2 months. Had a great time. Don't get me wrong. And we did shoot a couple bucks. But the weather knocked us off our game plan. And we didn't have a second plan. So, whatever you plan on...have a plan B! Good luck! Sitkas are beautiful deer and fun to hunt. It'll be a trip you'll never forget!
