Spotting scopes

Looking to buy a spotting scope, nothing too expensive. What do you guys think?

Guess it depends on what too expensive means. $0-500, $500-1,000 etc.

I used a Vortex Skyline ED at one point. Descent glass for the money, but it was just too big. I saved my pennies and now use a Swarovski.

I'm looking for one that's 0-500, just a decent one to spot feet out of binocular distance.

i just got the vortex talon (non HD) and have been very satisfied. it's lightweight so I haven't been tempted to leave it on any of the 40 miles I've done this season so far and super clear edge to edge and for a 65 mm not too bad on the light gathering either.

I am in the same boat.

I have been looking into the Leupold sx-1 ventana but have not had time to stop by anywhere and look though them.

Does anyone know anything about them?
