For anyone interested, especially after the recent elk winter kill in Loowit, here is some info to help future elk habitat. I personally won't be in town, but if anyone wants to help I think it would be a great thing to get to do.

Project Name: Mt. St. Helen?s seed Planting and Brush clearing
Project Scope: Planting grass seed on the mudflow to provide forage for elk on Saturday May 6. Pulling and cutting scotch broom on Saturday May 13.

Expected Duration: 8 hours each day
Anticipated Number of Volunteers Needed: As many as possible.
Meals Provided: No
Special Equipment Needed: Garden Rakes and backpacks for carrying seed and prep work
Rally Point: 3100 road on Spirit Lake Hwy SR 504. Take exit 49 east from I-5 for 31 miles and road is on right. Meet at Weyerhaeuser gate.
Special Instructions: May 6th seed planting is in an area that will require packing the seed and tools across the mudflow, no access with four wheelers. Be prepared to hike.
May 13 scotch broom pull is at end of Weyco road.
