Steen's deer

I have a Steen's tag for this year and would sure like to talk to some other hunters who have hunted this unit recently. For me, being an older nonresident hunter and considering the number of points it takes to draw as a nonresident, this will be a once in a life time hunt on this famous unit. I understand that residents can draw this tag every 5 years or so, so I understand if you don't want to share information, but if any nonresidents have hunted it and don't plan on going back, I would sure like to talk with you. I have already made one 800 mile trip there to scout so have seen some parts of the unit.
Thanks if you can share :)

Scott,
The Steen's unit is the land of giant puff balls :)
By far the biggest I have ever seen. This one was WAY bigger than a basketball.

Hopefully the horns are as healthy this year.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-23-09 AT 04:59PM (MST)[p]A couple of fawns that have beat the odds and escaped the coyotes and lions so far. I wish them luck. On average, 33 out of 190 of these fawns have to survive till next spring just to maintain the existing population.
