Swaro SLC vs EL

Other than overall design, what is the biggest difference between these two binos? Is the quality of the glass better in the EL? I have a pair of EL that my wife always tries to steal from me. I can't afford to buy her a pair for herself, but have been looking at used SLC that I can afford. Any thoughts?

If you are then I would say look for a late (2008-2009) SLC NEU or same in the EL. Optically not much difference between the two. Its more an issue of which you prefer the ergos of better. Assuming you want a 10x42 as the SLC NEU did not offer a 8x42.Both great optics.

The last SLC NEU and EL's made in mid 2008 to 2009 had upgraded coatings over earlier models. EL models after 2005 had an upgraded focus.

You can tell the age by the serial number.
