The Evils Of Bow hunting. WHAT!!!!!

that give the anti's all the video they need to make our hunting seem so morbid clean ethical shot are the olny way to hunt sure accidents happen but we dont neeed to give them anything else to hold agaist us.
 
WOW............I am not sure what is worse, the video or the person who wrote the stuff in the video. That thing couldn't be any more off base. I to a point can understand that no one likes to see the animal suffer, but that is where being a disciplined bowhunter and ethical one comes into play. I primarily am a bowhunter, always have been, always will be. I know what my limitations are with that weapon and know what my effective range is. It is up to us all to know those things. Yes every group will have morons, unfortunately it is those morons that get shoved into the spotlight. Very rarely will you see the do gooders of the hunting world thrown into the limelight for doing something good. It is a shame that vids like this are out there, it is rather frightning to be honest with you. The anti is not the one's to impress, it is the one's who are on the fence who know nothing about hunting, hopefully videos like these are not their first impressions.........but you are right, accidents do happen out there and animals will be wounded, that is a given, weather rifle or bow, but it is the follow up that matters most. Making every effort possible to retrieve. They make it sound as if hunters have no desire to kill fast and clean and that we do not make much of an effort to retrieve the game. I can't say much about the information this waco had weather it is relevant or not, just sucks to see it out there.

The headshot video could only be worse if the camera man said the F word a few more times. Don't they have any brains in their head? You know these guys probably don't know how to use computers so how'd it get on Youtube? That is a disgrace.

What a couple of complete morons those two idiots in the headshot video are. I can't imagine any legitimate hunters acting that way. I almost think that this was created by a couple anti's to smear all hunters.

The video put up by the anti hunter is almost as bad. It's well done, and biased to that viewpoint.

I don't know if this is the video or not, but Pat Lefamine of Bowsite, it's owner, has notified YouTube of copyright infringment with a video that they've posted on YouTube that is his copyrighted material. He's got his lawyers involved from the copyright angle.

Regardless of the one sided and biased portrayel of hunting/bowhunting with the inaccuracies and innuendos.

Let this be a lesson to all of us on what we post in a public media vehicle along with our actions in the field.

I also hope it motivates us as sportsman to be more active in positive proliferation, education and defense of a time honored tradition.

Once again they make an argument that many that don't hunt will believe in a second. This is one of the reasons why I don't think that guys should be getting on here and talking about their long shots because it plays into supporting their argument. But yet we have those that feel their ability to shoot and their manhood is being questioned. The internet is a curse to hunting and those that continue to post senseless acts and brag about their long range ability are doing more harm than good. These videos are being copied and used as proof about how hunters aren't acting in a respectable fashion AGAINST ALL OF US. The fact that they have these videos as proof takes them from "beyond belief" to some pretty hard evidence to support their agenda. Even if you don't want to believe it that's exactly what they're doing! Does it really matter if you shot your game at 50 or 750 yards in the big picture. NO what matters is that you had a great hunt and were successful.

They are attacking bowhunting because it's pretty easy to do and they can go into the field after the hunt and take photo's to show how barbaric we are. But make no mistake they'll not be going into the field to show a slaughter by wolves on a herd of elk stranded in the snow because that's counter productive to their agenda. Bowhunting is clearly in their sights right now and we as sportsmen (firearms and archery) must make every effort to protect that which we love and cleaning up the image we sometimes portray can only benefit us in the fight. As long as we continue to give them ammunition they will continue to use it. Think about that the next time you get on here and post about you making a 100 yard shot on a lemming when most of the guys shooting in the Olympics couldn't duplicate your effort. There's nothing wrong with saying you made a difficult shot and you have your trophy and it was a great hunt. It's not as macho but we will all concede now that you have a pair so get past it. Not too much they could use there in their quest, but in the end you didn't give them the ammunition they seek. Think about it the anti's biggest gains have been made since the internet became such a viable source of information.....hmmmm.

I mean to me I look at those pictures and with very few exceptions most of the animals photos are from hunters who were persistent enough to track and collect the animal. I say good job to all of those featured!

Save a deer, shoot an anti... JK:)
 
Wow that video hit a nerve with me. In the eight bucks I've shot at with a bow, I've hit every one right behind the shoulder and not one deer went more than sixty yards after being hit, and most no more than twenty five yards. I'm not saying that wounding animals doesn't happen since there's alot of dumb asses hunting sometimes, but now where near 57%of the deer shot at are wounded. Bunch of bu**##### if you ask me.
 
I'm just glad that none of the thousands upon thousands of deer that these type of people hit with their Subaru's every year don't feel any pain or suffering.

It is interesting to me that the dumbass people that would put together a video like that are the same ones that wouldn't think twice about walking into a doctor's office to abort an unwanted child because they are too irresponsible to keep their pants on, accuse an american soldier of committing murder for shooting an enemy soldier during war time, or spike a tree and kill or injure a human being who happens to have logging as an occupation and means to feed himself and his family. It is maddening!!! I better stop before I really get angry. Ridiculous!

It's hard to believe that a group of people could be so out of touch with reality.
 
Headgear I share your sentiments but we can't overlook the fact that they know exactly how the legislative process works and are vastly more organized than the hunting community. They get legislation passed and we usually can't get guys to write a letter if their life depended on it, let alone attend any meetings or help fund a lawsuit to stop them. Hunters think somebody else will do it for them. The real maddening part about this is they are not a majority but they know how to play the game and how to work the system. We're the one's out of touch with reality here in that we keep thinking this will go away but it's not going to. They keep knocking the domino's over one at a time, taking away a little bit of our right's with each falling domino every day. You're 100% correct it's entirely ridiculous but we're not in a better place today than we were 5 or 10 years ago and the future looks bleak.
 
That crap makes my blood boil, and that last comment about sportsman not giving a hoot. Don't tell me that I don't care for these animals, cause I now dang well that 100% of us here on monster muleys do more for the preservation and protection of our herds than those sons of you know whats will ever do. All they can do is run their mouths and make themselves look like idiots.

I am the father of four children I hunt my fater and I hunt his father and him hunted. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HUNTING!!! I have never or could for that fact ever raise my hand to one of my children in anger.
