LAST EDITED ON Apr-09-11 AT 06:03PM (MST)[p]Over the years I have come to know where the term ?kock of the walk? must have come from. Sage-grouse are a Polygamousspecies where one male will mate with many females. With sage-grouse one male typically does the bulk of the breeding. On different occasions I have watched one male mate with as many as ten different hens in the course of about 30 minutes in the AM. While I have witnessed this many times and captured it on video?it has taken many years to get it just right and capture it on film. The series of pictures (after the first one) where taken as it took place about 2 frames per second, it doesn't last too long. The luck of the whole thing is I managed to get it on two different occasions Friday AM 4/8/11 this is on a lek near Martin?s Cove WY.
