I should be hunting unit 67 this year during the elk muzzle loader season. Ive found a couple of people who will do some tresspass hunts in 67. My question is it worth paying for private land during muzzy season? People have told me that I should hunt up high this time of year for elk, wondering if there is much private land up high in unit 67. From my blm map I cant find any private in the south end unit.

If any one has any advice on unit, or places I should start, that would be great! As of right know we are planning on hunting near saw tooth mtn, and trying to find some where to camp near there.

There is no reason to seek landowner access, this unit is 97% public and only the low lands are held by private holders. Start in the wilderness in the south end of the unit.
