Turning a tag back in?

For the life of me I cannot find the information on what I need to do to turn a muledeer tag back in......I have a unit 34 3rd season tag and cant find the money to go this year. Do I get a refund or is it already past the deadline for a refund? Thanks! I will keep searching online for the info....I might just have to call the CDOW but thought I would try this first.

You can get a refund on any tag before the season opens for that tag, minus the app fee and search and rescue. I believe you have to forfit a refund if you want your preference points back.

Get a refund and they will not restore your points. Turn it back in and let them keep your money, you will get your points restored.

However, if this tag happened to be a 2nd choice tag, you can still get a refund and not lose your points.

Sweet...thanks for the replys. Drew the tag on a thrid choice so I dont need to worry about getting my points restored.
