elkassassin, i called them and told them you were going to look////they said they would fix that, and wanted to know how your new dogs where//?????

If the Dwr didn't make us wait so Damn long to find out the results. We wouldn't be so goddamn obsessed with any little info that's available. I think its a good thing if too many people call them or overload their network. I bet if the results were posted 1 month after applications were submitted. We wouldn't be so obsessed. Them making us wait for bullshtt counts is a Damn joke. They are gonna sell whatever number tags they can to get the money, animals or not. If they cut deer tags they will raise cow elk tags, and split some if those units up during the cow elk hunts to provide more tags to sell. So anyways, patience is good I guess. But who likes waiting.

Maybe They're clearing Our Points & starting over?

In my 1st 18 Years of LE Elk Points I have Failed!

That is kinda funny...

Just another way the UDWR is great at performing the draw.

Ya, they didn't like the fact that a few guys could figure it out and get a peek in the backdoor at the points.

They caught us peeking and slammed the backdoor! (sounds like an experience of my youth) LOL

Well boys, we have another week before it's official.

I've seen this thread (and others) where there's been a lot of speculation about why we're blocking access to the "My drawing history" Web pages. Here's why those pages aren't visible right now:

We manage all applicants' eligibility by tracking their bonus points and preference points for each drawing.

In order to prepare for the earlier-than-normal antlerless application period (which starts on May 29), our drawing contractor began updating some of the big game drawing data in the ?My drawing history" Web pages. We decided to block public access to those pages when we ran into a couple of complicating factors.

1. One complicating factor is that the big game drawing is not yet complete. (We are still charging credit cards and calling individuals who may have switched credit cards.) People are assuming they haven't drawn when they might actually have a permit coming.

2. The other complicating factor is that the Antlerless application opens on May 29, before final big game results are available on May 31. If Antlerless were opening in June ? as in past years ? this wouldn't have been an issue. We're following the same update process we always follow, but it had to happen sooner because of the earlier Antlerless application period.

So, here's an example of where this becomes a problem:

Say that a hunter (Joe) applied for a buck pronghorn permit. If Joe looks at his "My drawing history" page on the morning of May 29 and thinks he hasn't drawn a buck pronghorn permit, then he might log in and apply for a doe pronghorn permit. It turns out that Joe's "My drawing history" page is updated later that afternoon, and he isn't eligible to apply for the doe permit because he actually drew the buck permit.

That's just one example. There are other scenarios that could leave hunters disappointed or frustrated because they thought they drew a particular permit, only to find that they drew something else or didn't draw at all.

It all comes down to this: we want our customers to have finalized, complete and accurate information to rely on ? and make plans on ??instead of information that is still incomplete and in the process of being updated. That's why we decided to withhold access to the "My drawing history" pages until the actual date we promised big game results: May 31.

I know this is stressing some of you out, but please hang in there. You'll have the final results next week.

Darn Bess! you are coming up in the world. You come on and cry and moan and wonder what happens with the UDWR computer and BINGO! You rate a official reply from UDWR to answer your questions.

The next time you see Amy, you better give her a friendly hug and a big thank you for her kind service in order to prevent you from wringing your hands and losing sleep over your ponderance of what went wrong.

Also if you catch her driving on the Utah 500, your freeway around SLC, make a point not to blow by her in your smoke belching diesel rig goin like a bat out of hell.

Well RELH!

Amy-

So my question is why are they allowing applications for the Antlerless Draw before results of the Big Game Draw have been posted. In your example you state that if he draws a Buck Pronghorn permit he cannot apply or draw for the Doe Pronghorn. Wouldn't this be good information to have before the Antlerless draw opens up?? Why did the dates for the Antlerless Draw changes form June as in years past? Does 2 days really make that big of a difference? Seems either the Big Game results should be posted sooner or the Draw for Antlerless be later. Preferably the Big Game being posted sooner in my opinion.

Thanks--

Joe CAN draw a Buck tag and then a doe tag! What's the problem?

Bess can draw a bull tag and then a cow tag if he wants.

I'm calling BESS or is it BS!

338 a guy CAN'T draw 2 antelope tags in the same year. elk and deer are different.

What takes Utah so long with the draw? Nevada used the same company that Utah uses, Utah closed applications on March 4, Nevada on April 15 and Nevada results are still available before Utah! ERG?!!?

Don't understand the lengthy draw "wait" period either. I thought puters were faster now days. They should be able to post the draw results the day after the draw closes and then hit cards after that...As far as the antlerless tags go, poor managment of the system if the application periods are that close together. Get a clue dwr, start caring about the people that keep you in business and do what is in their best interest!!We pay some of your bills so do us the courtesy of getting our draw results in a timely manner!!

Agreed. But when has a state agency had to worry about customer service? I think it is just another job justification for them. If you have ever worked for a state or federal agency you would know how much waste of tax payer dollars are spent, and how little many of the positions do. What a joke look at all the time and money spent and the deer herd seem to do worsen every year. We are getting to the point we nearly have more state wildlife jobs and created positions in this state than we do deer. That is a scary thought. We need to have another sequestrian and cuts in state jobs and unneeded positions, that would get them listening and then we wouldn't need to make up as much revenue on antler less tags and general tags.

hit it right on the nose. doesn't matter what number they get on their counts and doesn't matter what the public's imput is (and they always say they want it) they already have the tags #'s set.

I love you Amy!
Thanks for the info, Joe
