Unit 48 - 1st season for elk

I applied with a friend. I will be our first elk hunt, except a trip in BC 5 years ago. We should draw with the points we have. I know it is OTC in 2nd and 3rd season so we don't expect big bulls, but the success rate is decent during the 1st hunt.

Anybody has experience in 48 ? Any pointer, places to look ?

Never hunted there, but visited the area often. VERY steep! And not sure where you got your info, but all seasons are limited (no OTC tags). Should be a better than average elk hunt if you can make the climb. Good luck!
